How we helped transform a passion for helping dyslexic children into a production-ready speech analysis platform—through 35+ iterations and strategic technical partnership.
The Client
PhonoLogic's founder, Stephen Robins, had a powerful vision: create technology that helps children with dyslexia and speech challenges succeed in their education. Inspired by his wife Marysia's work as a Literacy Interventionist and armed with fresh insights from his MBA, Stephen saw a clear gap in the market, but faced a fundamental problem.
He had the domain expertise, the market understanding, and the passion—but not the technical skills to build it. And without a working prototype, securing the funding needed to hire a full development team seemed like an impossible chicken-and-egg problem.
The Challenge
Build a speech analysis platform for education professionals to help children with dyslexia and speech challenges—inspired by real-world experience in literacy intervention.
No technical background or development skills. Limited budget to hire an agency or full-time developers before proving the concept.
Needed a working product to pitch accelerators, investors, and early customers. Without it, the dream would remain just an idea.
"I had this clear vision of what needed to exist in the market, but I didn't know where to start with the technical side. I needed a partner who could take my ideas and turn them into something real, without requiring the budget of a full agency."

The Solution
Stephen partnered with TwentyFiftySix as a technical co-founder, bringing the execution expertise he needed without the prohibitive costs of a traditional agency or full-time engineering team.
We started with deep discovery sessions to understand the speech pathology workflow, the target users (speech therapists and educators), and the core functionality needed for an MVP.
Through 35+ iterations, we refined the platform based on continuous feedback from speech pathologists and educators. Each iteration brought us closer to a product that truly served the needs of its users.
Built full-stack serverless platform on Vercel with Google Cloud Platform backend (Firestore database, Secret Manager for credentials), integrated three AI providers (OpenAI GPT-4, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini) with custom training datasets achieving 10x cost reduction, and established automated CI/CD deployment pipeline from GitHub—30+ infrastructure components working together.
Partnered with Stephen on comprehensive business strategy, positioning, and go-to-market planning and execution to support fundraising efforts and early customer acquisition.
The Product
What started as a concept evolved into a comprehensive speech analysis platform serving speech pathologists, language educators, and special education professionals.

Key Features Built:
Technical Infrastructure
Behind the user-friendly interface is a sophisticated multi-cloud infrastructure integrating three AI providers, secure credential management, production databases, and automated deployment pipelines—30+ components working in harmony.
Technology Stack by Layer:
Vercel serverless platform with Node.js functions, automated CI/CD from GitHub, global CDN for assets, and edge network deployment for low-latency worldwide access.
Multi-provider AI architecture with OpenAI GPT-4o, Anthropic Claude 4.5, and Google Gemini 2.5 Pro/Flash. Admin-selectable models with fallback logic for reliability. Custom training dataset development reduced API costs by 10x through fine-tuned prompt engineering and efficient token usage.
Google Cloud Platform backend with Firestore for database, Secret Manager for credentials, IAM service accounts for secure authentication, and multi-region deployment.
Enterprise-grade security with SHA-256 password hashing, GCP Secret Manager, service account permissions, automated build scripts, and comprehensive environment configuration.
Why This Infrastructure Matters:
The Impact
Non-technical founder with passionate vision for EdTech platform but no development capability or budget for traditional agency ($100K+). Needed working product to secure funding and validate market.
Technical co-founder partnership enabling rapid prototyping through 35+ iterations. Built enterprise-grade multi-cloud infrastructure with 3 AI providers, 30+ components, automated deployment, and 10x cost reduction through optimization.
Production-ready platform live on two domains with validated product-market fit. Now actively fundraising with working product demonstrating real value to speech pathologists and educators. Technical foundation ready to scale.
Technology Stack: Vercel (Serverless), Node.js, Google Cloud Platform (Firestore, Secret Manager, IAM), OpenAI GPT-4o, Anthropic Claude 3.5, Google Gemini 2.0/2.5, GitHub (CI/CD), 30+ integrated components
Timeline: Ongoing iterative development through 35+ cycles, from initial concept to production-ready platform
The Results
PhonoLogic went from an idea to a production-ready platform, positioning Stephen to confidently approach investors, accelerators, and early customers with a working product that demonstrates real value.
"The combination of technical expertise and strategic thinking is rare. TFS delivered a functional MVP in weeks, not months, and the experimentation framework they built has become central to how we make decisions. I couldn't have built this without them."
